About Me:
"A portrait is more than a picture".
I love faces. They tell stories. Even the littlest faces. The eyes always have it. Lucky is the photographer who can capture them.
I grew up in communist Poland, in an art-loving family. My grandfather, an architect, taught me to appreciate art, history and photography at a young age. My grandmother saw joy and color in everything, especially in the hand-made items that filled her home and which we often wore. My mom, an art historian, filled our house with folk art and literature.
When I was ten, we moved to Canada. I painted, sewed, read the classics and studied ancient history & archaeology. I fell in love with Graeco-Roman portraiture and art. And took pictures of my family and friends. Many happy, colorful pictures.
But all this wasn't always "practical", so law school beckoned. I became a divorce attorney in Toronto. I really started to miss color...and picture-taking.
Then...I met my California-native husband and moved to beautiful San Diego, re-discovered color, folk art, my love of photography...and story-telling.
Our five-year old daughter tells some of my favorite stories now & the camera is always ready. Every family has their stories and I would be honored to capture yours.
